The Ballet Class Description,
Students in this class will learn fancy footwork that helps to develop agility, musicality, and stylized movement. Ballet ii/iii (ages 10+) prerequisite:

Children will develop body and spatial awareness, musicality, and the dynamics of moving together as a group.

They will develop good dance posture through stretching and strengthening exercises, while improving listening skills and the ability to follow instructions. A balance of focus and fun, spatial awareness, flexibility, coordination, balance, expression, and hearing music/rhythm are explored through the joy of movement while worshipping god. Ballet skirt and ballet sweaters are optional.
Basic ballet skills, terminology, rhythm, and coordination are taught, practiced, and developed through creative movement, music, and mime in a supportive and supervised environment. At ballet petit, we also know that pas de deux class is a wonderful way for young boys and girls to develop healthy and respectful ways of working with one another. This class is strongly encouraged for our ballet 4 and higher!
Pre ballet is an introduction to ballet basics using methods designed for young imaginative minds and bodies. A great class to take prior to starting pointe. The class includes ballet, tap, and jazz, building upon the basics and working towards more complicated steps and combinations.
Pas de deux classes give the teen boys the opportunity of working with female dancers. Terminology and basic steps are introduced and an appreciation of french as the language of dance is developed. The focus of the class is to stretch and lengthen the muscles of the body, and to strengthen them to be able to better execute ballet technique.
All students must be the age listed as of 08/01/2021. Register for ballet classes now. In tap, we focus on rhythm and musicality in center floor exercises, across the floor progressions, and choreography.
Basic ballet (instructor approval required) at this level, there is a marked developmental leap, both in the technical aspects of class and in the seriousness with which training is taken by the dancer. Musical theater i & ii for dancers that are looking for a fun, active dance class. This class is a continuation of the beginner ballet program.
Students will focus on building the strength, flexibility and control needed to execute ballet moves. Twirl division classes dancers will be introduced to the basic dance terminology of ballet. For the student who has completed beginner ballet i or the elementary dancer who would like to continue honing their skills, this class will build on the movements learned in beginner ballet i.
Students must be the age specified by the class by september 1st. This is a combination class including ballet and tap technique. This class is a wonderful addition to your students’ ballet training!
Basic rhythm and tap choreography, as well as the foundations of ballet, will be taught. Ballet enhances a child’s posture, grace, poise, coordination, balance, flexibility and musicality. Exercises are aimed at conditioning the body for dance and will focus on proper alignment, core and leg strength, and flexibility.
