Dear Candidate,
Nebraska Citizen is providing information for many of the political races in Nebraska this year. Please visit our site at www.necitizen.com and see what we are doing. We ask you to complete the following set of questions so that voters can get a better idea of who you are and why they should vote for you.
We realize that some of the questions are difficult to answer. You are welcome to complete the expanded answer section, if you prefer, with as much of a clarification as you like.
We also realize that our questions do not reflect all of the factors that a representative must consider. An elected person may find it necessary, for a variety of legitimate reasons, to answer differently when they vote on a bill from what they have indicated here. Some of our questions may reflect a bias, even though it is not intentional. We don’t think it is possible to ask a question without some type of bias. If you don’t like how the question is worded, then please answer as you see fit. Take as much room as you like to do that. There is no limitation on space.
If you choose not to answer the questions by March 21, we will ask others what they think your position is. We will report their answers, if yours are not available. We strongly prefer you answer directly, and we will always use your answer over all others.
Thank you for your participation. We appreciate the fact that you have decided to run for office. We believe participation is the foundation of our government. We hope you will respect the desire of the public to know how you feel on various issues.
You can review before you answer. Please correct any errors you find. If you have a web site please let us know. We will link to it. If you do not have a site, we will provide you with free hosting.
The internet is a powerful tool. We hope you use it to your advantage.
You may modify your entry by reentering your password. What you have already put in will not be erased unless you have just modified it.
On many of the questions, you can choose to give an extended answer. If you choose "Yes", "No", or "No opinion", you should not fill out the extended answer box.
